Valedictory Address

Gentlemen,?Before I leave this now familiar seat, it becomes me to offer you my heartfelt thanks for the favour you showed me in making me a third time your President, and for the kindness and courtesy that have made my tenure of the office an unalloyed pleasure. There are positions of honour that entail a heavy burden of service. In this Society the energy of the Secretaries and the enthusiasm of the other Fellows give its Presidents full enjoyment of the dignity and sweets of office, enhanced by the consciousness that they are singularly free from care.
